Yes, I do. Because May is the time of love and weddings, this month's topic is an answer that is heard often in this setting. But what is the question?
It can be the classical "Will you marry me?". There are many couples getting engaged or married that you can write about: Aragorn and Arwen, Arathorn and Gilraen, Thranduil and his mysterious wife, Faramir and Eowyn, maybe even Legolas and some even more mysterious lady...
But "Yes, I do" can be an agreement with anything else, too. "Do you like apples?" "Do you have some arrows left?" It can be an answer to many questions, with only one thing in common - someone confirms something. Maybe exactly that confirmation is important for the main character of your story. It could be an answer that he or she has been waiting for for a long time, or an answer that will cause a major change in his or hers life.
And the winners are:
Burning Embers by White Wolf
I do by Linda Hoyland 3rd place
Remembered Trees by Rhymer 1st place
The Tale of Arwen and Aragorn Part II by Dyspeptic Tortoise 2nd place
Yes, I do by Cassie Hughes
Congratulations to the winners!
P.S. This theme was not a coincidence - my own wedding was on May 31st. Thank you for the beautiful stories I could read before it!
