September is considered the first month of autumn, also called fall, and rightly so: temperatures drop, leaves drift down from their trees, and the first drops of rain tumble from the skies. We honor this season with the theme Falls.
In Middle Earth, some falls are more famous than others. How did our heroes deal with Mithrandir's fall in Moria? How hard have they worked to engineer Sauron's fall, and how has it affected them? When Boromir fell at Amon Hen, what shadow did his passing cast upon Aragorn and Legolas?
On a smaller scale, everyone falls at least once in their life. Some are shattered by it. Others manage to pull themselves together and move on. In their many adventurous journeys, surely Aragorn and Legolas encountered pitfalls, setbacks, perhaps even failures, temporary or not. What happened? How did they face such adversities? Has Aragorn ever fallen off a horse? Has Legolas ever fallen out of a tree? And on their grandest journey, under the shadow of the One Ring, how close have they come to falling from grace and submitting to the siren-call of power?
You can also celebrate fall, the season: Does autumn make Legolas pine for his home? How are the autumns in Minas Tirith or Rivendell?
However you approach this many-sided theme, your stories must feature Legolas and/or Aragorn.
